Still, We Can’t Step Into The Same River Twice

Without brooding over where we have reached, if we understand how we have reached here, probably we might find some better solutions to the phenomenal problems we are facing right now. This exhibition understands the current socio-cultural-economic contexts in India as not something which happened suddenly starting in the past decade or so. It rather aligns with the understanding that the present crisis is something which has been systematically repeated for ages.

The exhibition stresses the point that the spectacular forms of oppression intensifying day by day are not something new. Though power and its abusive oppressive use of force have remained intact within certain sections of the population, the forms of this abuse and oppression have changed tremendously by updating themselves by even manufacturing consent within the oppressed masses themselves. In such a situation probably, we think the methods of fighting oppression also need to be updated without changing the goal posts.

This exhibition attempted to investigate through the certain day-to-day practices how the certain repetitive practices can be modified so that we stop chanting for a saviour and chant our rights…
