In an ever-changing demographic, migration has always been observed from a top-down lens. But do only the marginalised migrate? What happens after migration? Can we examine and question the privilege of choice of going and coming back? Do all those who leave come back? Why not?

This exhibition, In Transit, is an attempt to question, identify and examine the choice of moving homes and bases; and the larger, looming, concerns of Citizenship and Belonging in a postmodern India.

પ્રસ્તાવિત પ્રદર્શન એ બીજું પુનરાવર્તન છે, તેના બદલે મૂળ રીતે ચલાવવામાં આવેલા [સૌમ્ય બટન, અને] પેટ માં ચૂંક નું વિસ્તરણ છે. [સૌમ્ય બટન, ફરી એક વાર] પેટ માં ચૂંક, કલાકારોને વ્યક્તિગત વર્ણનો, સામાજિક-સાંસ્કૃતિક અનુભવો અને સાંભળેલા ઇતિહાસને પ્રતિબિંબિત કરતી અભિવ્યક્તિઓને સાકાર કરવા માટે એજન્સી આપે છે. [સૌમ્ય બટન, ફરી એક વાર] પેટ માં ચૂંક ની રજૂઆત દક્ષિણ એશિયાના સંદર્ભને ધ્યાનમાં રાખીને સામાજિક રચનાઓના દુષ્ટ વર્તુળથી દૂર જવાનો ઇરાદો ધરાવે છે, જેમાં અંતર્ગત પરંપરાઓ અને દમનના પ્રવાહો છે.

જ્યારે 'પેટ માં દુખાવો નો નાટક બંધ કરો' કહેવામાં આવે છે ત્યારે તેનો અર્થ થાય છે, ગેરવાજબી અથવા અન્યાયી લાગે તેવી કોઈ વસ્તુ વિશે ફરિયાદ કરવાનું બંધ કરવું. ક્રિયાઓ, ઇરાદાઓ, શબ્દો અને દુવિધાઓ ઇરાદાપૂર્વક પાંજરામાં કેદ કરવામાં આવે છે, કાંપ વચ્ચેના સ્તરોમાં ફસાયેલા હોય છે. તેઓ રહસ્યો, પડદો, કાટમાળના અનંત ખાડાઓ તરફ વળે છે જે ભારે બને છે.

આંતરડા ભરેલા લાગે છે, પછી ફરીથી, પેટ માં ચૂંક આવે છે -  વ્યક્ત કરવા માટે પીડા, મુક્ત થવા માટે પીડા, છુપાયેલા બિટ્સને ગૂંચ કાઢવા માટે પીડા જે (એ) અસ્તિત્વનો પાયો બનાવે છે.

[Tender buttons, and another] Bellyache is the second iteration, rather an extension, of the originally executed [Tender buttons, and a] Bellyache, where the exhibition hopes to provide a contemporary understanding of womanhood through art that reflects personal narratives, sociocultural encounters, and overheard histories. The exhibition strays away from the vicious circle of societal formations, keeping in mind underlying South Asian traditions and currents of suppression.

When it is said to ‘stop bellyaching’ they mean, to cease complaining about something that seems unreasonable or unjustified. Actions, intentions, words, and dilemmas are deliberately caged, buried beneath layers of sediments. They turn to secrets, veils, and endless pits of rubble that turn heavy. Feebly stitched buttons of a garment, when forced to expand beyond capacity will unfasten, or even break to being unruly.

The gut feels full, then again, there is a bellyache — an ache to reveal, an ache to set free, an ache to unravel the hidden bits that make the very foundation of (a) being.
