Intimacy with Waste

January 28, 2024 6:30 pm - January 28, 2024 8:00 pm

Mohit Shelare, an artist based in India, works around contaminations and connections that are situated in immediacies of a life in toxins, responding with new knowledge frameworks on body, semantics, and everyday practices.

He works with drawing, object, sound and text to formulate lecture performances that provoke conversations. He has shown his work at Watermans, London; Ashkal Alwan, Beirut; FICA, Delhi; CAMP, Mumbai amongst other spaces and environments.
As part of Conflictorium's artist residency '16 Breaths Per Minute' - a space for reflexivity and criticality at a distance from the urgencies of the art market and kneejerk socio-political posturing, Mohit has been living, working, eating, breathing (and helping us out with clearing manja off the terrace) at the Conflictorium premises in Ahmedabad for the last few weeks.

The open studio, along with a reading, will offer you insight into his world and meaning-making.
